The 3DS Virtual Console continued on from the idea of the Virtual Console introduced in the Nintendo Wii, but expanded on it. It added the feature of save states to the games, allowing for you to create a restore point and go back to it. The 3DS Virtual Console mostly focused on portable games in the past, having compatibility for GameBoy and GameBoy Color games
The Wii U Virtual Console continued on from the framework of the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console. While containing the same consoles as the Wii, it then added the Nintendo DS and GameBoy Advance devices to its capabilities, and even added some Wii games as download software, allowing for more games. This method will allow any NTSC SNES and NES game, and probably any Virtual Console game, to be played on a PAL Wii. I have tested this with around 15 NTSC SNES and NES titles. NOTE: Some PAL Virtual Console titles are the 60Hz versions, and can be played without this method simply by installing them, usually games that have never had a PAL.ImageNameOriginal ConsolePriceRelease DateAlterationsPokémon Blue
